PLANNING THE BRANDING SHOOT

In the planning stages of this photoshoot, Epiphany let me know that she wanted to take the photos with a city vibe. As a Los Angeles local and street photographer, I knew that Downtown Los Angeles would be the best place to capture the kind of images she was looking for.

The high-rise buildings and overall architecture in Downtown Los Angeles would make for a perfect backdrop. I also planned for a time in the evening when the lighting would be more even and therefore, more flattering for an outdoor portrait.

CAPTURING A VARIETY OF PHOTOS

Because we weren’t using any props or a studio space for this personal branding session, it was important for me to capture a variety of different photos so that Epiphany would still have a lot of images to choose from.

Epiphany also brought two wardrobe options and I made sure to utilize as many different backgrounds as possible. In the short space we had to photograph, I made sure to capture wide-angle and close-up shots.

For me, I always try to get my client to try different expressions and poses, and sometimes those in-between moments become some of the best shots of the entire shoot!

FINAL THOUGHTS

It’s always an honor to be able to connect with other local businesses in Los Angeles, get to know them, and deliver images that show off their personality. Personal branding photography is excellent content for any business to have because it allows your audience to get to know who you are and what you’re about!
