Colored Dial Watch Lifestyle Photo Ideas At The Beach
As a photographer, color is one of the most important attributes to consider when coming up with a photoshoot. Speaking specifically in lifestyle photography, I try to keep in mind colors that will appear in the photo with the location, the model’s wardrobe, and accessories.
While I love to photograph all watches, I find that colored dial watches, when paired with the right watch strap, have a distinct look that appears particularly striking in outdoor locations like the beach under the right weather conditions.
In this blog post, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite lifestyle photos featuring colored dial watches with different straps. All photos featured in this blog post were edited in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
Black Dial Watch with Gold Stainless Steel Strap
In this lifestyle beach photoshoot with model Jacob Hunt, a gold watch strap paired with a black dial was the main accessory for the shoot. The contrast between gold and black already makes the watch stand out, but Jacob’s wardrobe (not having too bold of a color) makes the watch look even more vibrant in comparison.
Even in photos where the watch dial isn’t shown straight to the camera, the color still stands out with the help of the gold strap.
Blue Dial Watch with Brown Strap
In this Santa Monica Beach lifestyle photoshoot, model Austin Lee brought a watch with a blue dial as an accessory for a few different wardrobe options. Compared to the other photoshoot, the weather was less overcast so you got to see that golden light in the photos.
The blue on the dial stands out regardless of whether or not the watch is in the sun or in the shadows.
I think the blue dial looked the most vibrant at blue hour once the sun had set and Austin was wearing all white. Once again, the contrast between the white shirt and the blue watch makes the time piece look much more vibrant than it would if Austin was wearing darker clothes or something more distracting.

If you’re looking to capture some high-end images of your watch, the beach provides a great location to get some clean photos of all kinds of watches.
