Marriott's Westdrift Manhattan Beach Hotel | Los Angeles Hotel Photography
Back in 2023, I had the opportunity to work with the sales and marketing team of the Westdrift Manhattan Beach hotel in Los Angeles.
For this project, I was assigned to capture different interiors and outdoor amenities of the hotel, rather than provide any lifestyle photos or room suite images.
In this blog post, I’ll be sharing some of the photos taken from the hotel photoshoot, as well as preparation steps involved in getting the final images.
About The Hotel
This Westdrift hotel is a boutique hotel located in the coastal city of Manhattan Beach. The hotel features a variety of amenities including a golf course, meeting spaces, a fitness center, a pool and more.
Working With a Shot List
Working directly with the marketing manager, I visited the hotel in advance to view the hotel to come with the necessary equipment for production day.

After a few weeks, the Westdrift Manhattan Beach team provided me with a shot list showcasing which locations they wanted to have shot and how many photos they wanted for each spot.
A shot list is an incredibly useful tool for any photographer or videographer on the day of production because we can refer to it and make sure that we are on the same page with the client.
Production Day At The Hotel
One of the first images that I captured for the Westdrift Manhattan Beach Hotel were the blue e-bikes at the entrance.
One of the main locations that the team wanted me to capture were their meeting rooms, which can be used for both corporate and social events. The different available rooms offer a lot of space lit by beautiful light fixtures.
As I previously mentioned, the Westdrift Manhattan Beach Hotel offers a pool and an expansive golf course. The course features lush green grass and palm trees, which make the location really reflect the Los Angeles vibes that you might expect from the city.
Additionally, there is an outdoor eating area near the kitchen, where you can look out at the golf course, as well.
